In other words, you will be given the first tool that will help you create lasting change in your life.
Change is always possible, and in therapy, we will focus on long term solutions. You can expect support and a warm connection while work on mastering the techniques you need to overcome and bring under control the challenges you are facing.
In therapy, we will focus on your challenges in the here and now, where change can take place. The present moment is where we have the power to do something effective. My clients often find this helpful when seeking solutions for stress, sleep issues, and various other physical symptoms of anxiety, depression, and negative emotion.
The power in changing your behavior
What you may not expect is how much our behavior affects our emotional and mental wellbeing.
Research has shown us that behavior modification actually changes the chemistry in the brain. Depressive behavior worsens symptoms. There are habits that should be stopped (watching tv, not getting up all day) and others that need to be cultivated. For example, exercise helps depression, resisting compulsions reduces OCD symptoms, and scriptwriting helps with general anxiety. I will be with you every step of the way.
These techniques are extremely effective in helping us heal from and move forward in a positive and empowering way.
